DfE: Research about staff with teaching responsibilities without QTS or schools that supported their staff to gain QTS whilst teaching in a school13 January 2025 (by admin) |
The DfE is inviting schools and individuals to take part in research looking at the experience of individuals who have teaching responsibilities who do not hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or where teachers gained QTS whilst teaching in a school, including but not limited to taking Assessment Only, Apply for QTS in England, School Direct Salaried, or the Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship routes.
The DfE is seeking these views to hep them understand how experienced teachers gain QTS now and how they can address barriers in the future.
School leaders that and have staff with teaching responsibilities without QTS can sign up to speak to the DfE researchers.
Individual teachers who have teaching responsibilities and do not have QTS, sign up to speak to DfE researchers. The DfE is keen to hear from unqualified teachers, supply teachers, cover supervisors, teaching assistants or learning support assistants who teach, and overseas trained teachers with no QTS
